Vivint, Inc, one of the largest home automation companies in North America, recently completed their shoot for O2 Media's popular home improvement television show "Designing Spaces."  The segment, which features company representative Shawn Brenchley and customer Deena Pyle, will air in June on Lifetime Television.  Brenchley introduces viewers to home automation or "smart home" technologies a remarkable new and affordable way to take some of the stress out of life by automating and monitoring household tasks and activities.

There are three main goals that are addressed by a Vivint home automation system – safety and security, energy management, and simplicity of lifestyle.  Accomplishing these tasks is not as complex as you may think, thanks to today's innovations in digital technology.  Vivint uses a centralized control panel that connects wirelessly with everything in your home, including small appliances, door locks, the security system, and even the thermostat.  Customers can control the system through their panel, or remotely with a smart phone or computer or an iPad.

"Our home automation system allows customers to remotely adjust their thermostat, turn lights and other appliances on and off, arm and disarm their security system, and can even provide access to video cameras in the home," Brenchley says.  "For our segment on Designing Spaces we'll be talking wit oled technology on mobile phone h a homeowner who has installed a Vivint Home Automation System, and can tell us all about the benefits of digital home management."

Brenchley is joined by Deena Pyle, a busy mother of two who has managed to streamline her schedule, provide a sense of security for her family, and save a considerable amount of money with her Vivint system.  "The ability to remotely control my home's temperature is one of my favorite features," she says.  "Our electric bill has dropped by fifty to seventy five dollars a month, and with the added security features we were able to get a discount on our homeowner's insurance as well."

For Pyle, who is a working mom, another valuable feature of her Vivint system is the ability to check up on her kids, who often come home before she gets done at the office.  She gets a text message when they arrive home and she can turn off the television remotely to encourage them to finish their homework first.  She even has a special feature that sends her a text when the medicine cabinet is opened.  "I love that Vivint helped customize a system just for me, my family and my budget," she says.
